In 1975, Chiranjeevi, a scientist, invents a telephone that enables its users to call people by selecting a date in the past, with the limitation that only one call can be made for each selected date. Meanwhile, Antony and Jackie Pandian are best friends and gangsters in Chennai, who have a common enemy named Akambaram. Akbaram decided to avenge his brother's murder against Antony. He kills Antony in the club, which results in Chiranjeevi also being killed. Jackie soon becomes the sole kingpin, adopting Antony's son Mark and raising him as his own.
In 1995, Mark, now a mechanic in Royapuram, hates Antony for being responsible for his mother Vedavalli's death. He is in love with his neighbor Ramya and decides to get married soon. He decides to sell his garage and move away from Royapuram, but Jackie does not allow him fearing for his safety. At the registrar's office, Akambaram tries to shoot Jackie but is killed that night. Ramya's mother finds out that Mark is Antony's son and asks him to leave her alone.
One day, a drunk Mark discovers Chiranjeevi's telephone and realizes his abilities. Using the telephone, he first saves his mother and her little one from Ekambaram and his men. He then warns Advocate Selvam of his imminent demise and asks him to meet him at his garage in 1995. Mark soon learns from Selvam that Antony is not a bad person and Jackie was supposed to be the real mastermind behind Antony and Vedavalli's deaths. Antony denied Jackie's involvement in illegal activities such as drug smuggling, arms trafficking and prostitution. Mark manages to change history by calling into the past, where Jackie was killed.
Mark soon wakes up and replaces Jackie as a gangster and Ekbaram as his guardian, while Jackie's son Madan replaces Mark as a mechanic. Madhan soon learns about Mark's involvement in altering the telephone and past history, which he informs Jackie. A cat-and-mouse game ensues where Jackie makes various attempts to kill Antony, but Antony survives all attempts and learns of Jackie's true intentions. Jackie and his men surround Antony and Ekbaram in the club, and Antony appears to have been killed. Mark wakes up to find himself as a mechanic with Akambaram in the present, while Jackie is still alive and Madhan is a gangster.
Madhan kidnaps Ramya and orders Mark to come to the godown of the club. Mark arrives and is beaten by Madhan and Jackie's men. However, Antony reached the godown; It is revealed that Ekbaram saved Antony in a club shootout and sent him to Colombia due to several encounter killings of gangsters by the police. Antony gained the participation of the Colombian underworld as Jackie usually sent commissions to gangsters under Antony's name. Antony uses his secret weapon Anaconda to kill all of Jackie's goons in the godown and finally kills Jackie and Madhan. In 1994, Brooklyn, Noah Diaz, a former military electronics specialist, struggles to find a job to support his ailing brother Chris and is convinced by his friend Rick to steal a Porsche to sell, only to discover that undercover the Autobots are mirages. . . Together, museum intern Elena Wallace studies an ancient statue of a falcon bearing the maximum symbol and accidentally breaks the key hidden inside. Key releases an energy pulse detected by Autobot leader Optimus Prime, which summons the other Autobots, including Arcee and Bumblebee. Drawn by Key's signature, the Terrorcons arrive on Earth and attack the Autobots outside the museum, with Elena caught in the crossfire. Scourge kills Bumblebee, steals the key, and the Terrorcons retreat when Maximum Airzor arrives. Airazor reveals that the Maximals have been hidden on Earth for millennia, and that Scourge only has half of the Transwarp Key, which was split in two to keep it away from Unicron. Optimus insists that the key be reassembled so the Autobots can use it back home, while Noah secretly plots to destroy the key to protect Earth.
Elena deduces that the other half of the key is in a hidden temple in Peru. The cargo plane Autobot Stratosphere takes them to Peru, where they meet up with Wheeljack, who leads them to the temple. However, the other half of the key is no longer there. The Terrorcons attack again, and Scourge corrupts the Eraser with Dark Energon. Later, the Autobots meet with Optimus Primal and the other Maximals, who have handed over the second part of the key to the human race they have been working with for thousands of years. Scourge's corruption leaves behind Eraser, whom Primal reluctantly kills at Elena's request to save him. In the chaos, Noah tries to destroy the other half of the key, but Optimus convinces him otherwise. Optimus and Noah agree to work together to save their home world from Unicron. While the Autobots and Maximals battle the Terrorcon army, Noah and Elena sneak onto the key, planning to disable it with an access code Elena discovers. During the battle, Scourge injures Mirage, who was protecting Noah, but transforms her damaged body into a powered exo-suit for Noah so they can fight together. Bumblebee is reactivated when Key activates an energon-infused canyon. He helps the Autobots and Maximals turn the tide of war. Optimus kills Scourge, but not before damaging the control console to prevent the portal from closing. Optimus destroys the key and breaks through the portal, ready to sacrifice himself, but Noah and Primal save him from being trapped in the emerging vortex, which destroys the rest of Terrorcon's army and traps Unicron.
As a result, the Autobots, unable to return to Cybertron, declare Earth their new home and vow to continue protecting it with the Maximals. Elena is called to discover a temple in Peru while Noah attends an interview for a security job but is actually invited to join the secret military organization G.I. Joe, who will cover Chris's healthcare.
